Just saw the movie and what a mess it was !

Quite hopeful when It started off. Nice scenery aerial view of a snowy landscape. Then when the fight with the witch started and with music in the background, it started to give me the headache. Its those fighting scenes which have too much editing and taken from too many angles when it ended you asked what happened ? Who killed who ?

Then Michael Caine appeared with the hope that he can save the movie. But it did not. The background music keep on playing and playing like it never going to stop. If done good and adequately it would have blend well and work for the movie. I guess here is where a musical director works is important. If you give the task only to the composer this would happened. He'll keep on putting his scores in. Good movies dont need to have background music all the time. It should know where to stop and where to start.

One thing is that you need to be a die hard witchcraft fan to understand what they are saying technically. Like me, I got lost with the too many times of going to the past but in a trance thing. But one concept stolen from Inception, when you die in the dream you die in real life. That i hope i got it right.

So in the end after the job is finished, do Coldon (VD's character) got any more job to do ? Or was it the end of hunting witches ? That I am not really sure - a result of poor story telling ? After watching this I still am not sure how do you really kill a witch and which witches are the good ones and should you let them live ?

Well thats my review. Some may agree and some may not.

Saw the movie today with wife at Jusco Kepong after reading very good reviews from JJ movie review. Then after watching it the review from Chris S is also great. Some would say this could be the best film of 2015 ! It was directed by Ridley scott. Through the movie thinking or hoping that some alien would come out. Anyway since this film is from a book source and strictly supervised by NASA, by being serious is one of the critical condition, non of those !
Ok some comments on the films
- why MW (mark wayens played by Matt Damon) never grow longer in the early part of the film though it was months and months of surviving. Like he has his barber up there or maybe in Mars it supress growth of facial hairs ? But towards the end (or 2nd year) he seem to like the Tom Hanks character in that film about a FedEx guy on an island.
- Woww going to mars will take 414 days and you dont see the crews doing anything to fill up their time. thats over a year. In other sci fi movies even like interstellar they show them hibernating but no this one. One more thing, what about the urge for sex ! I am sure Johansen and Beck did it and they are ok as they are singles. But what about the rest ?
- should have shown some scenes of their space ship travelling very fast like Star Trek for example as for some audience who are not sci fi or not enough grey matter may say - thats why it takes them over a year as the ship to be moving at snail pace !
- Friend or no friend i dont think all astronaut agree to go for another 500 over days to save 1 man when they have arrived ver close to earth atmosphere after about 1 year of mission !
- Can NASA or other country spend billions of $s just to save 1 man !
- No project of growing vege on Mars even if the main character is a botanist ! It was only by sheer luck that he came across some potatoes to grow. If not he would have starved when the food stock finishes.
- Individual faeces in plastic bag ?? Ok we buy the idea if left at Mars it may not decompose as there is no bacteria. But why having each one thier own collection of shit ?

There are a lot more of course. But perhaps these are very petty if you want to comment on an intelligent movie thinking that its real rather than a stupid movie thinking its all reality.
Enjoy the movie thou. Not because of the action or effects but the acting. Agree the reviewers saying that the acting was top notch.

Finally saw this movie at the cinema possibly during its last screenings at the local theater. Had to see it at the big screen because reports says that it warrant the big screen. I didn't see it on 3D as watching it on 2D would also give some sort of effect as I fear of heights (seriously)
So what can I report about The Walk.. 
The movie become interesting by the way it was told that is partly narrating by Phillipe (JGL) and making  funny as the main ingredient. For this one, Joseph played the part well whom i persume Phillipe in real life is funny too. Even Kingsley playing a cezh was funny too.
Its all about some group of people's effort in stoway in the twin towers (RIP) and pulled out the biggest stunt of all by having Phillipe crossing the towers on a wire. To me, titling the movie "The Walk" may not be the exact choice. To suggest a few like The heist, the coup (which Phillipe refered through out the movie), Tightwire, Crossing towers or something are better as it depicts what happened. The walk would more aptly apply to the "Selena" story of people walking for a cause.
At $35Mil, its money well spent. Never did i thought that the twin towers had gone to debris (911 remember?). JGL seem to be up there and the tower still exist or like the movie was made when the towers were still around. Thats how good the CGI was.Thou no fancy special effects but the CGI on that respect was really good.
One aspect that spoil the fun that it was actually 410m high and 140 ft across, was the lack of wind, like there was non. So the vertigo effect for me was only about a few seconds here and there. But since Phillipe did cross the towers and with ease (as in the film - crossing a few times) I guess it was true as depicted.
On a human aspect, Phillipe is one man of exception. He didnt have fear at all while doing the wire walking not once but a few times. He even bowed and laid down on the wire !! (OMG). Imagine if he slipped then its to hit the road below as no safety net or wire !
When a movie is based on a true story, theres not much excitement you can put in. The Walk suffered this just like the recent Everest. There's no element of wanting to stand up and clap at the end of the film like "Gravity" did. But of course that movie was purely fiction action.
No reference that the towers is no more around except at the end when Phillipe said that the pass the Mayor gave expire "Forever". But he did not mention directly anyway.

Saw this movie as planned. Why see this was because of JB. Perhaps due to this many appearances in TV Talkshows promoting this film, makes me want to see it on big screen. Plus the good reviews from my 2 fav and followed youtube movie reviewers; Jeremy Jahns and Chris Stuckman. Also plus its movie for the family.

Now on the film.
The film start off slowly establishing the fact that Zach and the mother had moved to a new town. Only after the first Goosebumps appear (call this) i.e. the Snow man then things get pretty fast pace. One complaint that CS mentioned was the CGI kind of lame. I agree when it comes to the Werewolf part. The snowman and others looks OK but the werewolf was like its from Werewolf in London stuffs (yuck!). However the funniest part of the movie was with the werewolf chase in the supermarket, very funny.
Agreed that the acting of both two leading kids were great. They carry the movie through. In fact the twist of the movie about Hannah was touching and it seperate the movie from movie of such theme. They could be big actors in the future with the right parts and path. Zach could turn to some leading hero like K Reeves did in Speed. But his good acting will bring him higher.
JB's part were kindda of short. Not much of his solo antics in a movie.Like his part of being the leading character is unlike others he had in before - i mean his character. This movie is like a team effort one.
Overall the movie was OK. Below expectation because expectation was rather high due to the above factors.

All is set to see Jack Black at the movies tomorrow 11am at TGV kepong. Its a family outing. Good reviews from Jeremy Jahn reviewed. Also Jack Black appearing every where on talk shows to promote this film. Hope to have a good time and may the film not disappoint.

Finally watched this movie when the BluRay version available. Many poor comments about the film on how bad this is. Not being bias but reviewing to what I have seen.
So you got a younger version of Frank and his father Frank Snr appears along side too. So if the name is Frank, he must be the same one as Jason Statham character in the earlier movie Transporter series ? Mind you there is also a TV version of the franchise.
The new guy can fight and can be the younger version of JS except he is much taller and slimmer. Fighthing wise and stony acting they can pass one another. But cant say if he was the younger version as the film (even car model) is of present day. So why want to use the Frank character again, god knows.
One thing for sure is the Audi car, they are simply undentable. After all the crashings even with many water hydrants - no dent like its made of rubber. But Frank must be paid a lot for each job he took as he can afford to blow 1 audi car to cover his tracks and yet drive another one to continue his job.
No complained on the car chases and stunts even passing thru the airport terminal. They look doable  unlike FF7 jumping car from skyscrappers in Dubai !!
But the plot that needs more to convince is how Frank (both Jr and Snr) can cooperate with the 4 blondes in their undertaking like they are part of the team for a while. 
Overall, enjoy the movie its a movie not to think or absorb too much literally just 'enjoy the ride'

This is the continuation of the movie "The Maze Runner" which did ok because of Hunger Games and other teen stuffs movies. It continues where the other left off. Hopes it does not disappoint.

REVIEW
I like this movie and it went above my expectation. In fact I saw it 1 1/2 times. Why ? Well initially I watched it on the old HDRip downloaded version . The experience was good but then again something amiss especially in the dark scenes which contain a lot in this movie. Then thinking of not to waste a good movie and knowing that BluRay version is already around, I stopped watching it halfway and get a copy of the BluRay version. After getting that I rerun the action scenes that I saw earlier, and it was much more satisfying including the audio.
To me, this movie or franchise rather, do not overly done unlike Hunger games with all the make ups and costumes, screenplay and even direction. When watching this movie, you know that this could happen in the future.
The technique of the running scenes were simply great. With the moving shaky cam you feel that you are running with them. Thou its over 2 hours, I was not bored there is always an element of surprise coming and the "I dont expect that" feeling.
But like all other teenage from books movie like this one including - Harry Potter, Hunger games, Divergent etc, you know that they are making another sequel. But I am looking forward.
The first one was OK it was just a group of boys (and girl) fighting robot spiders in a concrete maze. This one is about Zombies of sort and a bunch of bad guys who think they are good.
Time worth spent !
