This is one movie which had been condemned by reviewers on the internet so bad. Some say its not funny at all some say this is end of spoofs films as it is so bad that no one wold take the risk of making spoofs film anymore. Well, well, well.. I beg to differ. Its not that I am trying to tell that a movie is good when its bad or vice versa. I will tell from my own experience of watching a movie. Non of us are the same thats for sure and it may as well be in watching movies. Some would say a movie is bad when he or she has no interest in it in the first place or having a bad day when watching it or simply trying to be different that everyone else. Well that aint me. I will give credit when credit is due and vice versa.

First, the download copy of the link above is not that good. The images is sharp but darker and the sound is obviously taken from a cinema. But its much better than the average cinema (or toilet video) copy.Sometimes the audio is out of sync but still it did not spoil the fun watching it.

What are the known names in the movie for me ? Marlon Wayans in the leading role of course, Jane Seymour as his mother (obviously adopted)and his adopted father looks familiar. Russel Peters also made a brief appearance. Not familiar with Hanna Steal but she did a good impression in mannerism of  Dakota Johnson's character, the Grey's version of this movie. However this girl is a bit heavier. 

This is a spoof film and everybody knows that from the film's title right up to some of the shots in the film and also the dialogue and script. I wonder if this film could be sue by the original version producer ? And in the movie you also have spoofs from "Magic Mike", "Zero Dark Thirty" and other movies.

Lots of vulgar, obscene jokes and body anatomies in this one including penis and balls. The strength of the jokes were the slapsticks but most of the times in the dialogue too. Its one of the better spoofs movie I have seen. Those I saw before this showed that they are cheap low budget movies but this one is not that. Yeh (spoiler) Christine took Hanna in a bus instead of a helicopter to his apartment the first time, thats how they maintain the budget down but you dont see dolls and effects that made it low class and low budget like other spoofs movie.

I really laugh at some of the jokes and giggle at others. But it was actually fun watching it. But to do that just forget about what others are telling and dont expect too much out of this but to me it delivered.

Hei, even the original version "50 shades of Grey" was also condemn by the reviewers, some respected reviewers named it the worst film of 2015 ! Are you kidding me ! Then how come its got $600mil (if i am not mistaken) in ticket sales. Let see some of the overrated 8.0 IMDB ratings do that !

From the looks of its poster and the title, you think that this could be a cheapskate B X  movie ? Well not necessarily so. Most of the actors I dont know except for Anthony Anderson (of blackish fame and was in the 1st transformer) and the senator. The father (step father?) is also a familiar TV series face. Although AA is named last in the opening credit, he was adequately acting in the movie. The 2 main "nerdy" stars are unknown but to me they carried the film well especially Limus. Sometimes you feel sorry for his sorry ass hoping that he'll stand up for himself. And Bardot the robot is eye candy. Looks like a slender Elizabeth Banks and dont act much (as she is a robot daaa).

Yes despite the poster and the title, you have little skin exposure in this movie. Many who were hoping to watch because of that would be disappointing. The background music was accompanied by some jazzy band trying to do something like the Ocean's 13 (and so on) movies. Being low budget but it works sometimes.

Till the end wondering how is Lumis's family actually. Is that his step father and step sister but they seem to be so domineering like a real family. Perhaps they try to pull like a Jurassic Park 2 movie one where Jeff Godblum's ovie daughter character is black but no one ask why and how. So that goes with this one too, I guess.

I would have emphasized a lot more when the boys discovered Bardot after crashing on her after all she was near naked. Theres non of this as the next scene was Bardot in the boy's car.

Its not a waste of time watching this with the familiar topic of robot becoming human. Thou you could come up with lots of complains on how things happened like the way there were, but if you dont take the movie seriously, you'll be OK.

The production of the movie is nicely done and you dont feel that its a low budget movie where the credit goes to the Polish brothers? who directed and also wrote the movie.  Ending is like a Jackie Chan movie where it show goofie failed scenes.

Just finished watching this movie and honestly I expect this to be a letdown, but it aint !

First Mark Wahlberg and Will Farrel had been paired before in a cop comedy movie which I think named Hard Cop. I remember Dwayne Johnson was also in that too and thats how MW teamed up with him in Pain and Gain. Anyway it was just pure coincidence that this is again another movie produced by Red Granite which was also behind The Wolf on WS. So Najib's step son is in this too.

This movie nearly get a 2 thumbs from me if not for the slow start which plot is far too familiar in other movies of this nature. But through this movie you will see some real stunt just for seconds but brief enough to bring the respond - did that happened ?

Beside MW and WF, Christen Hayden Church and Bob C who acted as the son in that Pacino's Collins movie were in here. Also stay right till the very end because there is another familiar face, you dont want to miss this for it got me laughing out loud literally.

Like I said, the rivalry of the biological and adopted dads took a different turn and thats what made the difference than other movies of this type. Sure enough, if not for both the main actors the movie may not be as good. But its depend on individuality of course.

Fun with  family value morale in this one

This movie is only 1hr 20min with full of unknown actors. Those I know are Michael Rapaport, Bob Saget and Constantine of American Idol ! Sam's girlfriend looks nice. Bob Saget is now fat but can sing and play guitar. Love his song with those funny lyrics about failed love. Its one of the funny points in the movie for me. Whilst Constantine being his usual self acted as a singer. Not long time no see for him as we saw him just last week in AI15. There was also this fat guy acting as the US Marshall, his face is quite common.Cant remember his name but nhe played the moron who loose the train in Unstoppable.

This movie is about Sam who was a theft and was sent away hiding by the US Marshall before he testify in court. Then he discovered his talent of being a Stand Up comedian in a small town bar. Not that his joke is that funny or he delivered it funny like those professional and big time Stand up comedians, but I guess the people in the movie were made to like them and thats how the story goes.

Not really a fan of the movie as like I said the jokes are not funny. Also, nothing that much happen with the plot is thin and predictable. Theres one scene when somebody got killed and it didnt look like it. Thinking about this there was another killing taken place. The crucial missing part is the most important one - The blood ! Dont talk about blood splatter as there was no blood at all. You dont know whether that guy was dead until they were carrying the body wrapped in a carpet to bury !

Lucky that the movie is short and even that it still feel draggy. I think if the movie was to be better, the point where Sam should be stopped from testifying should be more dramatic and full of action. But it didnt go there just a lame attempt seen.

So thats why I give this one just wasting my time.

The movie title is weird but aptly explained whats in the film. Its about a Pharmacist having a dominating wife and a sexy flirting client.

The movie has many stars like Olivia Wilde, Michelle Monaghan, Kevin Howard, Ray Liota and cameo (I term as such) Jane Fonda. But Sam Rockwell starred as the Pharmacist. Other better actors could play his part and bring this film to a higher notch. Somebody who can play a deuces bag husband. Also Ben Swarch is a familiar face. 

This movie is about a family with crisis told in a comedic fashion way with adultery and "be a man" stuffs in the story line. Drug abuse, addiction and performance enhancing drugs is also included.

I did remember telling that OW is a British actually this is not the case as I saw her once in an interview. She's as yankee as she can be. Maybe her British accent when playing Brit was so good perhaps. BTW shes full blooded American in this one.

 

This film is with narration to keep it going. You could be surprise who the narrator is until it reveal right at the very end. Narration help a movie (especially this one) goes right to the story telling part and straight to the point. 

The morale of story - sometimes the appropriate solution cannot be the best one.

This film, I sensed, banked on Jane Fonda even Ray Liota. So short an appearance and you put them on the poster.

The film did not reach my expectation because nothing new on the plot bits and pieces from other movies. Not much surprises in the plot thou it nearly got there on the who had died part. Keep this film to see on a rainy day.

This movie is with familiar faces and you hope it to be funnier than the normal comedy movie. Is it ? Not really.

The main roles are Levitt, Rogen and Mackie or Green Hornet, Wannabee Robin/NightHawk and Falcon. Other lesser role are James Franco, Michael Shannon, Tracy Morgan and Mile Cyrus. Not a spoiler, MS is a super hero in this one. Only happened a few seconds, dont miss it. BTW he was Gen Zod in Man of Steel.

OK enough about the reference to super heroes movies, lets get down to the nitty gritties.

I thought and hoped this movie to deliver "moments" after "moments" of slapticks or jokes, but it did not. It took sometime to establish the scenario how these 3 guys are childhood buddies and why they are doing what they do on Christmas Eve every year. BTW, the movie would be more meaningful if watched near XMas or New Year as its really a Christmas movie

So the movie might actually not trying to be funny when you kindda hope it would. It was actually to tell these guys friendship. Come to think of it, it is kindda odd, that they spent together rather than be with families except for Ethan of course on every year's christmas eve.

I felt the movie failed to maximize the comedic brilliance of both Levitt and Rogen. The script was not that funny enough, of course.Its difficult enough to do one with such a thin ice plot unless you start doing brainless comedy which this film dont want to. 

At the end of the movie, you tend to complain that it could have been better. As a friendship kindda of movie it deliver it message but is it with laughter.. I dont think so.

See this if you still wanna live the christmas spirit which it kindda did. See it and look around if you have these kind of true friends in your life like Ethan have those two.

This film was unexpectedly GOOD. The decision to see it was based on watching the trailer on YouTube. In fact this film made history because it was made by a company which collected funding from its potential viewers ! Most of the film was actually good in special effects.. for its budget. How it was presented is also good. This is a comedy sci fi worth watching.

Non of those in the film I know except for Alan Ritchson. How I hate watching him in Thadland and he acted that dumb stutter guy in Wedding Ringer. But in this one, AR was different. He got the physique to be an action hero figure. There is a brief scene he showed his acting capabilities and he can do it. Being a bad guy then good who literally save the world.

The plot of the movie is fresh touching on accidental hero .. in this case heroes. Some of the jokes are really funny. LOL kindda of stuffs. Had really good laughs at some of them. Never thought that this is actually a $2.3Mil public budgeted movie. They were aiming in the $850k region.

I am sure there will be a follow up to this one basing on the script at the end of it. By that time it will be harder as the ideas are no more fresh. But just wait if they are making a sequel.

See this movie if you are looking for a comedy movie which can make you really laugh.

 

THE LEGEND OF BARNEY THOMPSON

This is a British film with Robert Carlye and Ema Thompson. Ray Winstone is also quite a familiar place in the British film circles.

Dont expect much out of this film except that its a directorial debut by RC. He was quite an actor in his younger days when he played one of James Bond's main villain and also was in Monty Phyton. ET on the other hand is already an established Hollywood actress and in this film she simply was unrecognizable being Barney's mother. Definitely using prostrate to make her aged physique. But good actor when playing a part well is convincing to be somebody's aged mother.

Barney Thomson is a man seem to be running out of luck. So many "tragedies" befallen over him that you may wonder how the story would end. It has comedy and mystery but kind of slow paced. But do wait till its over because the end was something unexpected bringing the movie out of being below average.

Of course some of the things happening you might question like why bringing corpse into your flat located many floors up. And why trying to dispose of corpse so far into the country side.

RC might be too old for the part. Its more glaring when he was a mummy's boy still single and uncertain of his future. A younger actor could fit the part better thou he did make up to look younger. So when ET look older and kind of fit the part, it still not right as RC looked still looked older. 

If you are used to see US's cops movie you will be bored to witness how slow and woody the British police is operating. They even need permission to carry guns ?

See this movie when you need a change of fast pace over the top American cop movie.

ROCK THE KASBAH

This film is partly based on a true story. Which part ? Well that at one point of time a female contestant entered the Afghan Star, a show equivalent to American Idol in US or any other parts of the world.

Saw this movie hoping that it would be a classic rock comedy movie like "Alamost famous" or even "Rock of the Ages" and a few more. It was almost there but not there as you will be entertained with many evergreen rock music (some are new of course) in the background.

The film is headed by known veteran Bill Murray as the music agent, Bruce Willis as the mecenary, Kate Hudson as the prostitute and Zoey Deschaneel as the AWOL rock star. Furthermore directed by Barry Levinson who had directed many movies with some good notable movies before like Disclosure, Donnie Drasco and a few more.

The Verdict...
You like this one if you are a fan of Bill Murray as he played the main character with Willis and Hudson simply as passe. Its quite slow and the camera work is simple and nothing of the new kind of movie making. It has its moments just by BM talking and making jokes.

The singing is definitely adlib and nothing to shout about but it is if it came from a reality show. But I dont think the outcome could be what is filmed in this movie.

Anyway watching this, you'll be taken to see how the rural people in Afghan lives and how suppress they are.

This movie is funny all right, British Fashion way. But equally impressive is the gun and fist fights scenes. Its brutal and really gory. But if you have appetite for both, this film is for you. After all its a British film thou the main character Kidman played by Ron Perlman is American.

Ron Perlman when he is acting serious can scare the hell of people he is interacting with.

As the plot is quite simple it tried to stretch it further (thou its only about 1 1/2 hrs long) with scenes when people are high on drugs and acids. In the 60's this I presume is something normal and big.

What if the story actually happened ? It might as moon landing conspiracy still exist even to this day. This is another take on how the landing could  fail and what the back up plan would be. Doing it in England could be the right choice in order to remain secret.   

This to me is a good comedy. But without the equally impressive action scenes, you may not enjoy it as much.

This is an Australian movie I reckon produced by its chinese community. Dont worry when they speak chinese in some parts as the subtitles sufficed.

Saw this movie without any expectations and it didnt be as comedic as I hoped for but didnt totally fail as it did entertained.

Its a con movie or as they say in the movie a "professional lies" movie. Like a few other movies of this kind it shows how this team comprise of father, daughter(?) and chinese friend protege went from town to town conning people before reaching the ultimate con on a poker table. It shows how they sustain as conning is their jobs. And if you want to know a few tricks for you to create your own con job, you could really apply the con from this movie. I think it can work ! I am sure some con artist could use some of the tricks for their own benefit. You never know that con artists use some of the tricks like they did in this movie. Some require team work and risk that anything can go wrong. But all for all you need practice, then perfect the con, master them then repeat them.

The Chess trick at the beginning of the movie is brilliant where the Professor played with 10 people at the same time and won on the average. But the thing is, he was never good at chess its just that his strategy that was brilliant. But still I beg to differ if it can actually be done unless the opponent actually move according to what the other opponent did. You got to see this to understand.

The movie is not a let down but dont expect movie with exaggerate slapstick for it have not. Watching it you want to find out what will happen in the end.. and that is a formula of  a good movie.

A WALK IN THE WOODS - download link corrected

This film is about an adventure of 2 old men (above 70 years old.. possibly above 80?) through the Appalchian trails in the US. The trail is more than 2,000 miles crossing over 14 states. Its from a book wrote by Bryson (played by Robert Redford). Nick Nolte is the friend who followed him as his (Bryson's) wife did not allow him to go alone.

Its a drama with some dose of humor along the way. From the film they traveled thru 3 months (even thru snow) and still only covering less than 1/3 way of the trails.

Aside from the other incidents they went through, it was really about the friendship of this two friends who had lost in touch with one another for sometime.

Of course to make the story interesting there were events that happened along the way like meeting and knowing people and learning new things.

Now back the facts or reality.
Redford is in the movie because he co produced it. Nolte on the other hand because RR wanted him as Paul Newman had died. The fact that these old men took the challenge is such a thrill to know and to find out if they made it or otherwise. But the truth is, health wise and the physicality of both men, they could not have made it.. a few miles maybe. Full Stop. In actuality, Bryson and his friend took the trip when he was 44 years old. And that is considered "old" to have attempt to walk the trail. So having actors nearly twice his age doing the trail is somewhat ridiculous. They could have used actors who are about that age but the challenges wont be that challenging.

But its a fun movie from the veteran actors. Seeing it you know one or two on hiking in the woods. There are people who are doing this for something they want to achieve and that is admirable.

SISTERS

So I watched this nearly 2 hour comedy movie for the laughs. Tina and Amy are well known female comedians with good track comedic records. So this film would not fail me. Did it ? Yup it did.

It was not fun at all watching this. The simple and boring plot was that the girls were frustrated that their parents had sold off the house they grew in without consulting them. So to took "revenge" of sort when they decided to have a party inviting people they knew (from schools) and also those they just and barley knew of. So, in the party was where the fun should happen. And so it went, where the film tried to stretch it to 2 hours with the things happening during the party. Quite unbearable for me going through the jokes which looked forced. Even John Cena could not save the day unlike he was in train wrecked with another Amy. But he felt in place and comfortable. The SNL Guy Monahan was irritating, as that's how he should be in the film.

So after finally ending the film which I thought of quitting half way I discovered time had been wasted on crap like this.

I do hope the studios could make better comedies as we already knew that "the Martian" was the best comedy for 2015 (according to Globe Awards) ha ha ha.

BTW Brolin (the father not the son) looks like an older Christian Bale.

Saw this movie as planned. Why see this was because of JB. Perhaps due to this many appearances in TV Talkshows promoting this film, makes me want to see it on big screen. Plus the good reviews from my 2 fav and followed youtube movie reviewers; Jeremy Jahns and Chris Stuckman. Also plus its movie for the family.

Now on the film.
The film start off slowly establishing the fact that Zach and the mother had moved to a new town. Only after the first Goosebumps appear (call this) i.e. the Snow man then things get pretty fast pace. One complaint that CS mentioned was the CGI kind of lame. I agree when it comes to the Werewolf part. The snowman and others looks OK but the werewolf was like its from Werewolf in London stuffs (yuck!). However the funniest part of the movie was with the werewolf chase in the supermarket, very funny.
Agreed that the acting of both two leading kids were great. They carry the movie through. In fact the twist of the movie about Hannah was touching and it seperate the movie from movie of such theme. They could be big actors in the future with the right parts and path. Zach could turn to some leading hero like K Reeves did in Speed. But his good acting will bring him higher.
JB's part were kindda of short. Not much of his solo antics in a movie.Like his part of being the leading character is unlike others he had in before - i mean his character. This movie is like a team effort one.
Overall the movie was OK. Below expectation because expectation was rather high due to the above factors.

All is set to see Jack Black at the movies tomorrow 11am at TGV kepong. Its a family outing. Good reviews from Jeremy Jahn reviewed. Also Jack Black appearing every where on talk shows to promote this film. Hope to have a good time and may the film not disappoint.

Wanna have Zac Efron as your DJ ? Wel lets watch this comedy.

Actually this movie cant be classified as a comedy as the PreReview implied. Yeah there were some funny moments but its not what the movie is all about. To be more accurate, its on how to be a DJ who is Zac Efron in this movie. He followed his mentor the guy who got swept away by Tusnami on a distant planet in Interstellar (Wes Bentley). It was an OK movie to lull the time away. Must be a real treat to those who love clubbing. Is this the kind of music they are playing at the clubs these days ? Still cant comprehend how clubbers can enjoy themselves watching DJ strutting his stuff particular at the end of movie when Cole/Zac was on stage. With the crowds so packed i dont think they can even dance to enjoy. But that was a fest and not a club. I think it was very kind and generous of James (the mentor) to still be friend with Cole even after what happened with his Girlfriend/Assistant with Cole. The camera work was good too so its not boring. Watching this movie can answer those question on what makes a DJ.. or a good one. How they get the ideas for his piece and go about getting them and mixing them. Nothing much to learn from the morale of the movie (if any). Yes debut directorial from the director of the movie.
